Turkey Burgers

Ingredients
- 1 pound 93% lean ground turkey
- 1/4 cup seasoned whole-wheat breadcrumbs, or gluten-free breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup dried onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 garlic clove, grated
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- Olive oil spray
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: cheese, tomato, red onion, iceberg lettuce, pickles, ketchup, mustard, caramelized onions, or avocado
Method
- Combine the turkey, breadcrumbs, onion flakes, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and salt without overmixing.
- Divide into four equal patties and flatten each to about 1/2 inch thick.
- For the stovetop, lightly oil a hot nonstick skillet over medium-low heat. Reduce the heat to low and cook the patties for 4–5 minutes per side, until browned and 165°F inside.
- For the grill, oil clean grates and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes per side, until the centers reach 165°F.
- Toast the buns if desired, then assemble the burgers with the chosen toppings and serve immediately.
